The new Dufour era is galloping. We showed you the new Dufour 470 which you can also see at Milan Yachting Week, and after the presentation at Boot Dusseldorf 2020 of the Dufour 530 the French giant, now owned by Fountaine Pajot, drops its third ace: the new Dufour 61, of which we show you the first ever photo released by the shipyard, and which you can also see inside the booth Race Boating at Milan Yachting Week. A boat that many enthusiasts had been waiting for from Dufour since a novelty on this size had been missing for several seasons.
THE DESIGN.
A clear choice made by the Felci studio, once again the owner of the project, which is to remain in the family feeling of the range, taking up what was already introduced with the 530. The bow is completely straight, maximizing waterline length. The shapes of the hull see a very high aft edge on the water, with a hull that narrows very much at the waterline height so as to prefigure two buoyancy settings, one slightly wet in light wind, and the second, in strong wind, supported by the dynamic support of the edge. Also interesting is the aesthetic play of the “hollowed out” line along the side at the height of the portholes, useful in masking a freeboard that will be important. A stern sundeck area is proposed that will contain an outdoor kitchen inside, a solution to allow the boat to be experienced to the fullest during summer cruises.
INTERIOR
The Dufour 61 offers two different galley layouts while maintaining ample living space and enjoying abundant natural light.
The layout with a galley forward lets the dinette “flourish” on the maximum available beam. Searching for the maximum beam that remains even in the version with the galley on the left becoming more spacious, while the interior layout includes three or four cabins. Unmissable is the tender garage where it will be possible to stow an inflated boat.
