After the first installment dedicated to boats between 9 and 11 meters, our column dedicated to the market is back, with more news coming, this time in the “mid size” area, up to 15 meters. Boats that will already be comfortable almost or like a home and equipped with every comfort to live aboard for long periods.

The second installment of the novelty column is on the 12-meter to 15-meter range, which in some cases can be considered the “mid size” in the world of cruising sailboats.

Stratos 43

This year the Poles at Viko Yachts are preparing to make a quantum leap with the new Stratos 43, a low-cost cruising boat but with an Italian heart. Born from a collaboration with Studio Cossutti-Ganz Yacht Design, this will be the first boat over 10 meters from the Polish shipyard, which is thus set to compete with the most important European brands and beyond. Looking at the first renderings of Stratos 43 we can see a modern look of the hull, with an inverted bow, integrated delphiniera, and a double edge, one of which is positioned at the top, near the foresail. Together 40

The Dutch shipyard Saffier, which specializes in daysailers and weekenders, surprised a little bit of everyone by presenting a 15-meter performance cruiser at the Düsseldorf Boat Show: Saffier SL 46. A boat that combines the performance and elegance, to which Saffier has accustomed us on smaller models, in a new, larger format. GTX6
/ Elan Yachts
Elan GT6, where GT stands for Gran Turismo, is a workhorse of the Slovenian shipyard, and it brings with it a bit of automotive design: it’s that of Porsche (Studio F.A. Porsche), which together with designer Rob Humphreys created this unique boat. A few years after its launch Elan decided to launch the GT6 Explorer, a blue water evolution of the original design, with an additional forestay and increased energy range.
