Do you need to recharge your batteries? Here we have gathered for you some proposals from four of the best rental operators to reach real paradises in the off-season, away from the summer tourist crush and free to immerse yourself 100 percent in the wilderness.

If you want to unplug and be lulled by the Indian Ocean, the pristine Seychelles might be a good choice: Navalia(www.navalia.com) offers bargain prices and the best sailboats, both monohulls and catamarans. The base of your cruise will be Mahé. To get there, the agency also provides its clients with airline flights departing from airports in Milan, Rome and Bologna. All you have to do is contact them.

In the mood for the Caribbean? Equinoxe Yachts(www.equinoxe.it) gives you the chance to immerse yourself in the charms of Cuba aboard the brand-new Lagoon 620 Kaskazi Four (an 18-and-a-half-meter catamaran with five cabins for 10 guests, crewed entirely from Italy), which from late January will sail up from Caribbean waters, where it currently sits, northward to the isla bonita. This is an ideal time to visit Cuba and its still entirely unspoiled natural beauty, with few boats and few tourists, before the opening to the West (aided by Fidel’s death) radically changes the island. In addition, unlike other Caribbean destinations where beaches are the only attraction, Cuba is a veritable open-air museum, rich in historical and architectural charms.

Who said that in order to enjoy the boat during the winter you need to go far away? More and more enthusiasts are choosing the Mare Nostrum. Spartivento(www.spartivento.it) may be right for you: its bases in Tropea, Reggio Calabria and Portorosa prove to be the spots
ideal starting points for setting sail to discover Sicily and its archipelagos. Egadi Islands, Aeolian Islands, Ustica. Or aim for Malta or cast the bow north to the Pontine Islands. The fleet on hand is remarkable, comprising as many as eighteen monohull and catamaran boats.

If, on the other hand, you want to explore the Balearic Islands (a true pearl of the Mediterranean, especially in the low season) in complete tranquility, all you have to do is “knock” on the door of North Sardinia Sail(www.northsardiniasail.it), which has a base in Mallorca, specifically in Porto Colom, the largest natural harbor in the Balearic Islands. From here (there is a wide choice of boats, from Beneteau to Jeanneau, Bavaria to Lagoon) you can easily reach the Coves de Drach and Coves de Artà , spectacular caves shaped by the tireless work of the water, or the island of Menorca, with the fascinating Mahòn.
