SoloSailor’s advice
Andrea Lodolo(we told you his story here), is in fact preparing for the legendary solo round-the-world race on vintage hulls, 30,000 miles nonstop and unassisted. Aboard Bibi, his 11-meter Rustler 36, “the SoloSailor,” he connected with the Sailing Newspaper from the Atlantic Ocean, live by satellite, recounting how conditions have changed from upwind to downwind.
SoloSailor in the Ocean – The Video
He tells us about his life on board, how he manages to cook in waves of 3-4 meters, and how he is using the sextant to determine his position.
In this extraordinary link, our SoloSailor gives us his reflections on the meaning and importance of this qualification, and the rediscovery of the values of sailing with an edge of uncertainty, which makes us more conscious sailors and connected to the sea, the sky, and ourselves.
Andrea Lodolo is the creator of the Yacht Safety Management System, which he presented in the Journal of Sailing in several installments (you can find them below).
