Classic Boats

timeless whose value transcends all pragmatic standards, resulting from yards, designers and circumstances that are now unrepeatable. Moving from the memorable Swan 43 by Sparkman & Stephens to the great Hallberg Rassy 42 designed by Frers, then here are five Classic Boats between 12.98 and 13.22 meters, unique and valuable designs in the history of sailing.

ELAN 431

Elan Marine | 12.98 x 4.00 m | 1989 | J&J

The two Slovenian Jacopin brothers designed one of the most beautiful boats of the late 1980s for Elan. Characteristic and anticipatory of future trends is the stepped stern, which is also elegant, as is the low, streamlined retractable deckhouse.

SWAN 43

Nautor Swan | 13.04 x 3.56 m | 1967 | Sparkman & Stephens

One of the most beautiful boats ever designed, a masterpiece of Sparkman and Stephens. Produced in 67 examples, it is not the most iconic Swan, but it is the last of an era, the last without a retractable deckhouse. With deep soaring sterns, a gorgeous stern and abundant beam, she is not only supremely elegant but sails like a charm. If you love classic boats, you cannot wish for her. The deck is simply breathtaking.

FIRST 42

Beneteau | 13.08 x 3.99 m | 1981 | German Frers

A forerunner of large-scale series production in fiberglass, French Beneteau over the years has relied on many renowned designers for its Performance First line. But the 1981 First 42 stands out for its very elegant lines, in the pure style of the master Frers. The prototype from which it is derived is the Gitana VII.

Never had anyone dared so much. The Genesis 43 is a boat born to break the mold and has a design never seen before. All of the components are made exclusively for her; you won’t find them on the market. The result is a boat out of the chorus, full of ingenious solutions with the hand of archistar Vallicelli. Unique.

HALLBERG RASSY 42 (F)

Hallberg Rassy | 13.22 x 3.95 m | 1990 | German Frers

Who has never seen a Hallberg Rassy? Boats that only at first glance evoke comfort and safety. Qualities that, in 42′(F), first meet the beauty of archistar Frers’ designs. The result is a lady globetrotting boat, highly appreciated. More than 230 units were produced between 1990 and 2001. The long-cruise boat by definition: easy, safe, take anywhere, anytime.
