The Düsseldorf Boot is not a boat show dedicated only to monohulls, but one can also visit various catamaran models and, why not, even small trimarans. Among these an interesting project is the Tricat 690, from the Breton shipyard of the same name, a lightweight trimaran for nautical camping or day trips that can be wheeled and folded. Equipped with electric motorization, 2-3 people can fit inside, and under sail it promises to be fun. We saw it up close during the German fair.

What a trimaran it is
The sail plan includes a square-top mainsail and a low-overlap jib that is easy to maneuver in the turns, the TriCat 690 also has side drifts with drafts from 0.28 cm to 1.20 m. In the stern, the maximum gennaker area provided is 34 sq. m.
With its shallow draft at raised drifts, the shredder also becomes a kind of large beach dinghy when needed, in short a versatile vehicle at a cost of just over 60 thousand euros, making it an out-of-the-box proposition for those looking for something different than the classic large series boat.
