In this installment, we take you on a tour of the latest from Harden, an iconic brand
that has made history in sailing and deck equipment.
Harken, the myth of sailing

Established more than 50 years ago in the U.S., today Harken is a world leader in the production of deck equipment for sailing. Pulleys, rails, winches, furlers, and hydraulic systems are on board every kind of boat: from the smallest dinghy to the largest megayacht; from custom, to production. Not only that: Harken races and wins in the America’s Cup, Ocean Race, VendĆ©e Globe, Olympic, Maxi, Altura and One-Design sailing classes. And it is present in 48 countries with two production sites: one in the U.S. and one in Italy. It is precisely from us that winches, pedestals, captive systems are made for the whole world and recently also rails.

A key role in the quality and reliability of the products is played by the Harken Labs, the in-plant test rooms in which extremely severe tests are carried out with loads far in excess of actual loads. State-of-the-art laboratories simulate extreme conditions and validate strength, durability and performance, ensuring maximum safety and performance. It is precisely manufacturing capabilities and robotics that have led Harken to grow outside of yachting as well, adapting its blocks, winches and trolleys to industrial uses. The high strength, weight and small size have made these products perfect for high-load rope systems used in commercial boating, mountain rescue, construction and arborism.
Today as Harken’s business continues to expand, it is not moving away from its core values: making excellent products and customer care done by qualified technicians.
