The Tito Nordio Sailing School, created in Monfalcone by Olympian Sergio Sorrentino in 1966 (in Tokyo in 1964 on the Dragons with Annibale Pelaschier and Sergio Furlan) was the first school recognized by the Italian Sailing Federation. Here, thousands of young people discovered the fascination of sailing and experienced the excitement of a vacation unlike any other.
A Day at Titus Nordio
We decided to spend a day with them, a special day, because it was also the time of the inauguration of the Red Bull Sailing Academy, which is also based in Marina Monfalcone. The boys and girls of Tito Nordio therefore had the opportunity to meet Ruggero Tita and the entire @RedBullITASailGP team.
Reserved for children ages 7 to 17, it is organized as on 10-day courses as a true “College of the Sea,” where sports, adventure and friendships are woven into a unique experience. Courses are held on Oprimist, Laser, Laser Vago, RS Tera, Feva and 500.
The “heart” of the Tito Nordio Sailing School
The beating heart of the Tito Nordio Sailing School is its team: more than 20 instructors, coordinated by 6 managers, with an organization voluntarily not pyramidal, but by skills: Andrea Caracci, engineer and Maritime Surveyor, FIV Instructor, solo ocean navigator; Francesca “Balu” Nosadini, graduate in motor sciences, FIV instructor and ski coach; Chiara Calligaris, Olympic athlete and World Champion, FIV instructor, Associate Professor of Geology; Jacopo Ferrari Bravo, former racer, FIV instructor and sailing coach, yacht captain; Marco Del Zotto Lawyer, FIV Instructor and Ski Instructor; Alessandro Sartorelli, Project Manager, racer, ASI sailing instructor.
Overall, a mix of professionalism and passion ensures that students have a complete experience combining sports and personal growth.
