Classic Boat
Golondrina, formerly Ojalà, one of the Classic Boats currently listed as for sale on the Classic Boat Club

The second-hand market, never more than for sailing, is a vast, complex world full of potholes and variables. And, if figuring out which boat is right for you, and which among those viewed is the best option, can be difficult, even more so can selling your own. Nonetheless, the world of used boats is the one that lends itself most to much of the public, both on the quality-price front, and on the choice front-not to mention, the Classic enthusiasts, who can only find answers here. With this in mind, to assist each front, the Classic Boat Club seeks to come to your aid, whether you are an owner, or a prospective buyer. By virtue of this, the Club then also offers sales assistance, giving visibility to registered boats that, indeed, turn out ‘for sale’. Why? Simple, to facilitate both the owner who wants to give new life to his boat and those who, instead, are looking for one. Here’s how it works.

Do you want to sell your boat? The Classic Boat Club may be right for you

Let’s start with a premise: the Classic Boat Club has nothing to do with sales platforms, and it is not a marketplace. Its purpose is not to sell boats, and nothing is gained from it.

That said, however, Celebrating and valuing Classic Boats also means taking responsibility for helping those who, care for them, have taken care of them, or intend to do so. That is why, the Official Register of Classic Boats of Historical Value., offers the option to report a registered boat as for sale if that is the owner’s intention. But this is purely a referral, an assistance in visibility. Any negotiation, information, or contact is done directly between interested parties and ownership, without commissions some. With that specified, here’s how Classic Boat Club might work for you.

  • Classic Boat Club, the community dedicated to all “vintage” sailing enthusiasts, a place for appreciating and sharing the design culture of the last century, has been born. Become a member: it’s super easy and offers lots of benefits. Find out all about it HERE!

Classic Boat Club > Sales Assistance

How does the sales assistance system work? The process is relatively simple.

Every boat registered in the Official Register of Classic Boats of Historical Value has the right, at the time of enrollment, as well as at any other time, to notify the staff (via a button if at the time of enrollment, or via email), of his or her intention at the display of his or her boat as for sale.

In that case, within the Register, the main photo of it will appear ‘flashed’ with a blue banner bearing the words ‘For Sale’. Opening the tab, at the bottom of the information shown, there will then be a ‘+ Request More Information’ contact button. Through this, an email will be sent directly to the owner, as well as to the Staff, who can then contact these should there be a problem. This, a first step, a direct tool that allows interested parties to go directly for the owner, without intermediaries.

But the support does not stop there. In fact, on a weekly basis, the Classic Boat Club’s dedicated Newsletter cyclically reports Classic Boats for sale, thus increasing the boats’ visibility to the entire membership pool, now exceeding the tens of thousands.

Finally, articles dedicated to used boats are featured on the Sail Newspaper website, as well as a newsletter dedicated to these reports. Here, your boat will be featured, so as to offer you visibility relative to the hundreds of thousands of users. All of this, with no commission on the sale and with direct contact via cross-referrals to the boat sheet, which you drafted.
