Having a boat over 18 meters and being able to carry it alone or as a couple is no longer a dream. That’s the promise of the new CNB 62, the latest creation from the French shipyard, now part of the Solaris Group, which will have its world premiere at the upcoming Cannes Boat Show. A true luxury bluewater, designed for those who want to grind out miles in the ocean without necessarily having to take on a professional crew.

CNB 62 is the luxury bluewater you also carry alone

“CNB 62 represents a perfect symbiosis,” says Vincent Arnaud, Brand Director of CNB,“it is a yacht designed for owners who expect both comfort and capability, a true offshore cruising boat that does not compromise on elegance.” Heir to the world-famous Bordeaux 60, the new 62-footer raises the bar. The design, signed once again by hull wizard Philippe Briand, answers a question many owners ask: What is the biggest boat I can handle without help? Briand himself comments, “CNB 62 is a worthy successor to the famous CNB Bordeaux 60. Her seaworthiness is assured by a balanced and powerful hull combined with a generous sail plan.”

Simplicity commands the deck

How do you make such a big boat “easy”? With clever solutions. First of all, the position of the wheelhouses, which are very forward and close to the guest cockpit. This way those at the helm are not isolated and, most importantly, have all the maneuvers within easy reach.

Freeing the cockpit from clutter and hazards is then a carbon arch to which the mainsail luff is attached. For protection from the sun or bad weather, there is a choice of a classic bimini or a hard-top that transforms the helmsman’s area into a 360-degree protected location, ideal for comfortable sailing even in colder latitudes. At the stern there is no shortage of a garage for the tender (up to a Williams of 2.85 meters) with longitudinal opening,“the only viable solution for easy launching of the tender,” as the shipyard points out.

Below deck: a house by the sea

If it impresses on the outside with its functionality, inside the CNB 62 is a real home on the sea. The interiors, designed by Jean-Marc Piaton, are flooded with light thanks to large broadside windows and skylights in the deckhouse, a CNB trademark.“We wanted the interiors to reflect the freedom and serenity of ocean cruising,” explains Vincent Arnaud.“It’s not about extravagance, but harmony: a place where the owner and guests truly feel at home, even in the middle of the ocean.”

The style is elegant but not glitzy, with light woods (brushed oak), leathers and matte finishes to create a relaxing environment. The salon is the heart of the boat, with a large U-shaped sofa on the port side and a chart area on the starboard side. The open, super-equipped galley is located toward the bow.

The real magic is in the three-cabin layout. The master occupies the entire area forward of the mast, freeing up“an unprecedented amount of space for a 60-foot boat,” as Piaton puts it. An optional studio can even be integrated here for those who never unplug.

The two aft cabins, both with ensuite bathrooms, are accessed via a corridor on the port side of the boat, since the tab is on the starboard side. And there’s a treat: the starboard cabin beds are on rails, so they can be configured as a double or two single beds. And if you change your mind and want a deckhand on board? No problem, an optional layout with separate access crew cabin is available.

As Arnaud concludes, CNB 62 offers you“the freedom to go anywhere in absolute comfort and beauty.” A boat capable of crossing the ocean, making a good impression in Portofino and anchoring in a remote bay in Polynesia.
