Lele Panzeri, a well-known advertising creative and inveterate sailor (by the way, he is organizing creative sailing courses for September and October on his boat), after explaining to you why, in his opinion, bow mooring is better than stern mooring, and why meridians and parallels should be abolished – again in his opinion -, how to be safe at anchor with a “holster,” why doors should be taken off in a boat, returns with another of his tips dictated by his experience on the boat: namely, where to put fenders when sailing (without “banging” to take them off every time).

Where do I put the fenders when I sail?

Do you have a boat that is not large where there is no capacious locker that can accommodate fenders?

Some people simply tip them back inside the dragnets and leave them there. But they move, they jolt, they clutter up in sides of the boat you risk tripping over them.

I, after observing speedboats that have special steel tube structures suitable to house them, decided to adopt the same solution but with more sober materials.

Two rubber bands (minimum of 6) between the candlesticks in the middle of the boat on either side.

Nice and tight.

You string the fenders there, standing upright, with the line secured to the dredge, in an area where they cannot interfere with the rigging and sheets of the jib or gennaker.

Do you see the picture? They are neat and elegant.

I said the fenders-what on earth are you looking at?

It was simple but you had to think about it.

See you next little idea from your Uncle Lele.
