USED BOATS: They sell 5 classic hulls from 4 to 19 meters.

Three great classics among the cruisers of the late 1970s and 1980s, a one-off motorsailer from 1972, and a dinghy, a cult drift all along. These are the five boats to lay eyes on this week, each suited to different needs and, each, ready to satisfy a new owner. Here they are in detail in ascending order by overall length.

DINGHY (3.6 m)

Designed by George Cockshott in 1913, the Dinghy was born out of a simple idea, to bring together in a single monotype all the features that, at that time, were shared by the many similar hulls then used either as tenders or as ‘barques’ to challenge each other in the bays or waters in front of marinas. Proposed to the IRYU as a unified drift, the design was approved and, from then on, became an undisputed icon. In 1919 it became an International Class and, in 1920 and 28, was also a lone Olympic Class.

Dinghy

Today, the Dinghy is the outstanding example of a boat for everyone, an eternal model that will never cease to satisfy, as much on the purely free outing front, for the simple pleasure of sailing, as on the racing front, as strong as ever in an active class. The Dinghy for sale, from 2020, is self-built and fully equipped, ready to sail.

WAUQUIEZ CENTURION 36 (10.88 m)

In the second half of the 1980s, Dubois signed the Centurion 36, a hull that would remain highly appreciated among cruisers who got to ride in it. Balanced, marine and stable as few are, with this Wauquiez produces a boat designed for the purest cruising, strong in deep lines, high displacement and exceptional quality. Not for nothing, 36 units will be produced in just five years… The specimen in question is No. 12 of these, with Rina valid until 2030.

Always properly maintained and ready to sail, the Centurion 36 in question presents: movable forestay, storm jib, mainsail and gennaker. She then has deferred rigging in the cockpit and a 7-winch Lewmar self-tailing complex. On the propulsion front, it installs a Volvo 2003T 43-hp shaftline with 3-blade MaxProp. Onboard instrumentation, on the other hand, is Raymarine, while the autopilot is an EV-200 Ainear Pack. On board, she is able to accommodate guests in both the V-shaped forward cabin and the aft owner’s cabin, with an additional 2/3 berths convertible into the dinette.

ALPA 38 (11.42 m)

Presented at the Genoa Boat Show in 1976, the alpa 38 is part of the large production of the Offanengo yard, which with these launched a cruising hull that is easy to steer and designed for safe sailing. Indeed, a central cockpit, aft cabin, and high freeboard make this a marine hull, the qualities of which are reflected in the example for sale here, launched in 1977.

Alpa 38

Sloop-rigged, ready to sail (no limits from shore), this alpa 38 installs a nearly new Vetus 65hp engine, has a bow thruster and is complete with tender. On board it has several upgrades, including new (2024) galley and oven. The boat can be seen in Procida.

COMET 375 CL (11.50 m)

With the end of the 1980s, a classic signed Comar was born. It is the Comet 375, designed by the skilled hands of Finot and Peterson. Lines and design are excellent, quality and pitch pure. It will be a resounding success, worth no less than 112 built. 11.50 meters long, 3.70 wide, the model for sale dates back to 1989 and boasts quite a few on-board options.

COMET 375

As for the sail fleet, there are 3 furling genoas on board, the newest of which is from 2022. Also furling, the mainsail, to which are added 2 spinnakers and an asymmetrical gennaker with new furler. The engine, however, is a 40-horsepower Volvo P D2 from 2010, while the propeller is a max-prop. Also on board are 3 batteries, a battery charger, an autopilot, 2016 Raymarine electronics, and a 2021 Arimar Roll dinghy with outboard from the same year. Two cabins, two bathrooms (with shower and water heater), and six berths complete a package that is actually much more complete, every detail of which you will find in the fact sheet.

MOSTES (ONE-OFF) (19.3 m)

Launched in 1972, Milly is a custom motorsailer built by Mostes and 19.3 meters long. Cutter-rigged, she is a wooden hull of good elegance, welcoming and designed to offer high levels of comfort and safety. The design signature is that of Franco Anselmi Boretti.

When sailing, Milly can carry up to 14 people, and features 3 cabins on board, including a very spacious owner’s cabin with private bathroom. In terms of berths, however, she is capable of sleeping up to 7, in addition to 2 crew members, should these be contemplated.

Be careful though! On the other hand, if you were looking for a Classic Boat, or wanted to sell one, don’t forget about the Classic Boat Club! Here, you will find some great boats within the Official Register of Classic Boats (those listed as for sale) or, otherwise, you may opt to list yours as for sale!
