The Marina di Brindisi, recognized by ADAC (Europe’s largest automobile club) as one of the best port facilities in southern Italy, is offering all VELA Cup Brindisi members free mooring from May 26 through June 11.
All the more reason to take a vacation in Salento in early June, when Puglia’s beaches and waters are not yet too crowded. For the more sporty, however, it is also an opportunity to participate in the 37th edition of the Brindisi-Corfu, a historic international offshore regatta, a leg of the Italian Offshore Championship, which kicks off on Sunday, June 11.

Everyone can win!
The VELA Cup regatta in Brindisi, scheduled for Saturday, June 3, will last about 3-4 hours and the race course will be set up on a coastal course. The regatta formula moreover is very simple: whoever finishes first wins, with divisions by homogeneous length classes in the Cruising Boat and Sport Boat categories. The overall winner in compensated time will be awarded the Leg Winner prize, given to the best performance, regardless of size. Other rich prizes will also be raffled off, including a satellite communicator, a multifunctional knife, a sup, and more. The great thing is that everyone can win!

The VELA Cup is also Classic
Big news at this year’s VELA Cup is the new Classic Boat class, for all those boats, including production and fiberglass boats, more than 25 years old. So step up because at the VELA Cup, competition is for everyone. There are those who participate in the Sport Boat category , using non-inferred sails such as spi, gennaker and code 0, and those who just want to have fun with friends and family, in the Cruising Boat category , with white sails. You don’t have to be a sailing champion to win; there are prizes a little bit for everyone. In addition to a rich gift bag, numerous beautiful prizes offered by partners Garmin, Veneziani, Leatherman, Plastimo, HiNelson, and YachtingBond will be raffled off on Saturday evening at the awards ceremony.
