Meteomed: the official weather briefings of the VELA Cup

Meteomed, a leader in marine weather forecasting, is the official weather forecast partner of the VELA Cups. What does it mean? That will provide a detailed weather and sea conditions report for each leg of the circuit, which will be read at the crews’ briefing on the morning of the regatta itself (at approximately 9 a.m.) and disseminated to all crews via the regatta’s WhatsApp group before the start of racing, ensuring accurate information on weather conditions, wind strength and direction, wave heights, and relevant weather phenomena. Working with experienced meteorologists and high-resolution models, Meteomed offers customized forecasts for up to 10 days with frequent updates and an accuracy of up to 2.5 nautical miles, and offers all registered crews a 50 percent discount on all its subscriptions. While for one lucky winner (drawn at random) there will be a year’s free Meteomed TOP Subscription.

CD Sails: free check-up for your boat

The VELA Cups are also the perfect opportunity to have your boat’s mast, rigging and lines checked by the experts at CD Sails. Through a form that will be sent to registrants at each leg, or directly at the VELA Cup desk, you will be able to request a free inspection of your mast, rigging and lines. Specialists will come aboard the boats on the Friday evening before the race or Saturday afternoon after the race to assess the condition of the equipment and provide valuable advice on upgrades and optimizations.

CD Sails, a sailmaker known for the quality, performance and durability of its sails for all types of boats-from small boats to maxiyachts-thanks to the experience of Claudio Demartis and his team, is providing all crews with a sail repair kit free of charge (in the gift bag that is handed out at the VELA Cup desk). Three lucky people per leg, on the other hand, will be drawn to take home a portable vacuum cleaner and wet vac and a 20 percent discount on new CD Sails sails.
