Light breeze but lots of excitement for the historic regatta that was staged Sept. 20 in Genoa. Here are all the winners.

At the Iren Millevele 2025 in Genoa, 214 boats put on a slow-motion race in a breeze (2-5 knots). Here’s who sailed best in the becalmed conditions and won:

– Up to 7, 50 m (25 participants) is won by Paolo Brescia’s Melges 24 Melgina;

– 7.51 to 9.50 m (44 participants) Graziano Bonaldo’s Ufo 28 Auffa;

– 9.51 to 11.00 m (50 participants) Adelio Frixione’s X 35 Imxtinente;

– 11.01 to 13.00 m (47 participants) the Swan 42 Koirè – Spirit of Nerina chartered by the Conic company;

– 13.01 to 15.00 m (22 participants) the Swan 45 Miss K chartered by the company Dolomiti Energia;

– 15.01 to 17.99m (16 participants) the Vismara 50 Candelluva 3 chartered by the Chiari Servizi company;

– over 18 m (8 participants) Adriano Calvini’s Felci 61 Itacentodue.

Here are the rankings of the 214 participating boats with their placement.

At the Iren Millevele, the mayor of Genoa was also there.

But the beauty of the Genoa Millevele regatta, now in its 37th edition, is that any kind of boat can participate: as the rules state, all you need to do is remove the anchor from the bow to avoid accidents. So even the Grand Soleil 52 LC of Liguria Region President Marco Bucci at the helm of his Frally finished in its category with an honorable sixth position.

Embarking on the Hallberg Rassy Blue Indy of Yacht Club Italiano President Carlo Cameli, who organized the Millevele, was also the new mayor of Genoa, Silvia Salis, who has a youth sailing background with an Optimist when she was a Scout.

The battle between companies, losers and winners

There was also a regatta in the regatta between corporate crews, the Iren Utility Cup with 34 boats at the start. The crew from the communications agency Conic, which was aboard Koire-Spirit of Nerina, won. To give you an idea of the competitive spirit involved, the Rodman 42 Cheyenne crewed by the consulting firm Deloitte engaged in a battle to the last puff with Warpath of KPMG, another business consulting firm. And Deloitte got the better of KPMG and also Accenture with the new Class 40 Influence.

Among the banks in the race, however, the “small” Passadore bank chartering Elo II clearly beat the much larger BPER with Doubleday.

Among utilities, Iren with the Vismara 43 Arly ruled rival A2A with the Swan 45 Tengher.

Here are the full rankings of the Iren Utility Cup.

Among the old ladies of the sea great result, fifth place in class, for Serena Galvani’s Aria, a wonderful 8 m SI from 1934 that proved to be at ease with the becalmed.

In Tigullio on Nov. 8 event for all boats

During the Millevele, another celebration of the sea as the Millevele involving Liguria was announced for Nov. 8. In the Gulf of Tigullio, along a fascinating coastal route from Portofino to Sestri Levante starting from Chiavari, the Tigullio Race 50th Event, a regatta with shore party open to all boats, will take place. The Tigullio Race 50th Event celebrates 50 years of the Tigullio Winter Championship, the first to be held in Italy. A memorable day of celebration on the water and ashore planned for Saturday, Nov. 8. Don’t miss it!
