Forty crews arrived on Garda from all over Italy for the FIV National 29er Regatta organized by Circolo Vela Gargnano in collaboration with the Garda Salò Rowing Society, with the contribution of the Lombardy Region. All the protagonists of the national 29er regatta
Imposing themselves clearly, with as many as 6 first places out of 11 races, were Giulia Bartolozzi and Pietro Rizzi of the Garda Salò Rowing Club, protagonists of a capital performance that left 10 points to their pursuers, teammates Emilia Salvatore and Pietro Zandri, second overall but first in the Under 19 category. Third overall were the Trieste-based Montesano-Coslovich of Circolo della Vela Muggia, second U19 and protagonists of the “top speed” reached on the last day with 13.5 knots of speed.
In the Under 19 category, the De Bernardi – Cunegatti crew from AV Alto Lario came third. The first Under 19 women’s crew was that of Martarelli – Ceruti from Brescia, also sailing for the SocietĂ Canottieri Garda Salò, confirming the excellent work of the Garda association.Among the Under 17s, Francesco Carrieri and Thomas Colaizzi of Circolo della Vela Bari came out on top, finishing ninth overall, demonstrating considerable potential in this class as well after Carrieri’s previous excellent performances first in the Optimist, and then in the foil Waszp.
In the Under 17 women’s category, Bianca Marchesini (Fraglia Vela Malcesine) won in tandem with Lucia Finato.
Circolo Vela Gargnano looks forward to next May (May 17-18) for the Gentleman Cup, a regatta reserved for one-designs Asso 99, Protagonist 7.5, Dolphin 81, Ufo 22, Fun and Meteor now in its 27th edition.
